Own It!

Own It!

Introduction
(0:00 - 0:28)
Hi, this is Dr. Daniels, and you are listening to Healing with Dr. Daniels. This is the Sunday, August 9th, 2021 edition. Yay! Today’s title is Own It! Own It! Yes, today I’m going to talk about how just totally being you can improve your health and your happiness. As always, think happens.
Update on Mom
(0:28 - 1:27)
But first, update on mom. Mom is happy as a clam, doing her bed exercises, and carrying on. She said to me, “You know, you were right years ago when you told me I was going to live a very long time just with my habits.” So that’s what I’m going to do. No more of this medical stuff. Interesting. So, mom has decided at the ripe old age of 89 to let nature take its course. She doesn’t seem overly excited or happy at the prospect that she may well live to be 100. The family is standing by and doing everything we can to make her days as happy as possible. We make sure collectively that someone gives her a phone call every day. So that is going very well.
Vitality Capsules Update
(1:27 - 3:25)
Vitality capsules. Yay! Production is nearing completion. We have about one or two weeks to go, and we have a new label. Unfortunately, I don’t have the technological ability here to show it to you, but I wish I did. I don’t know how to do that. The new label has a wonderful forest scene. The extra strength still has an orange band on it, and you’ll see instead of saying “everyday vitality,” it now says “vitality cycles.” Vitality cycles symbolize the concept that vitality—your life and your health—actually goes through cycles throughout your life. And that’s what I’m finding now at age 64. Although I’m very healthy, it’s a different time. It has incredible rewards that are different, but it’s just amazing.
At my age, 64, obviously, even though I’m really healthy, I’m not having any more children. Even though I’m perfectly healthy, I’m not having any periods. So, it’s a different cycle in my life. The new name “vitality cycles” is a recognition of this. The bottle is also clear. Yay! You can actually see the capsules now. Extra strength has an orange band around the bottom, and the regular has a green band around the bottom. So look forward to those new labels, and just so you know, yes, these are really vitality capsules that you’re receiving.
Taking Turpentine and Shilajit
(3:25 - 7:20)
Okay, that’s the vitality capsules update. And so the website is vitalitycycles.com. Yay! So, we have a spoon. Yay! The spoon is a regular United States teaspoon. It holds five grams or five cc’s. A teaspoon. Then we have white sugar. White sugar. Again, when you’re going to be your own person, taking responsibility for your health, you have to label your things. Because, hey, could be salt, could be vitamin C, scarlet acid, who knows. But now we do know. Sugar. White sugar. Yes. I recommend cane sugar because everyone knows beet sugar is genetically modified, so why not get the real thing? Cane sugar.
Okay, then we’re going to kind of ration out the sugar here. Believe it or not, it’s about a teaspoon and a half. Then we have turpentine. I kind of ran out of space on this one, but it’s clear that it is turpentine and not water or some other beverage. Yes. Now we’re going to take our trusty three cc pipette. And I don’t know why they call it three cc because it’s only two and a half cc’s up here to the neck. And that’s my dose, two and a half cc’s. Squeeze our little bowl. Bam. Dip it into our bottle and suck up. Can’t wait. Suck it up. And there you see it right there, pretty close to the top there. And we’re going to squirt it onto our sugar. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. And some of the sugar should not be covered. That’s right. Some of the sugar is not covered with turpentine. We’re going to put our tops back on our bottles here so we don’t have any accidents. We have our glass of water. I like to put a little water in my mouth to start, and that lifts the turpentine sugar up off the spoon so I can swallow it straight down my throat without tasting it too much. Drink enough water all the way down to the tummy.
All right, got that. Next is our Shilajit. Shilajit is really important because it has trace minerals. Quite a few of them as a matter of fact. Now someone asked me, “What’s in this stuff?” It doesn’t work that way. This is not a manufactured product. They literally go to a pit, scoop the stuff out, and put it in the container for you and send it off to you. That is the whole manufacturing process. Let me open this up and there you go. Shilajit. I would say yum, but honestly, it tastes terrible. Bam. Stick a chopstick in, pull it out. We need 200 milligrams; it’s clearly more than 200 milligrams for those of you who are in the know. So we’re going to scrape some of that off and pull it out there. Now that’s about 200 milligrams. Some days a little more, some days a little less. I’m going to take this, put it in our water, and let it dissolve. As you can see, it does not readily dissolve. It’s a little sticky, so we’re going to let it just sit there. And I’ll take that either at the end of the show or after the show. Usually, I end up taking it after the show. All right, put the top on my sugar here, put that aside.
Personal Progress Update
(7:20 - 9:55)
Bam. A little update on my progress. Yay! So, as you know, I’ve been doing gymnastics and mastered my left front splits, right front splits, forward roll, to a pop-up jump. And I’m working on my center splits and back bend, touching my head to my heels. That’s coming along. Not there yet. But I have managed an assisted handstand. That means I can do a handstand; I just use one kind of balancing my legs. All right. So what does all this mean? Just like, what’s the point? Well, the point is—and I realized this yesterday and today—yesterday I went on an outing. That means I went up the mountain and I went into a restaurant. I don’t usually go to restaurants, but a friend of mine had a birthday party, so I went to the birthday party.
And I was able to go from table to table, say hello to people, meet people, bend over, stand up. And it was karaoke, so I was able to actually go to the stage and do a performance. And I just realized how easily my whole body moved. I didn’t feel a single stitch, pull, stretch, strain, nothing. And it was just great. Movement was just effortless. All of my everyday movements, everything I had to do to get through the whole thing was just absolutely effortless and easy. So that’s really, I think, the point of being physically fit, of just having the full use of your body. So again, I just want to encourage people to go for it. You don’t have to go through calisthenics or gymnastics if you don’t want to. Maybe just a simple stretching routine every day. But it’s really a wonderful thing to do, and the rewards are just awesome, amazing. I mean, if you paid a million bucks, you couldn’t get any more. In fact, I would say you probably wouldn’t even do as well. And this is with all my regular body parts. In other words, I don’t have any artificial joints or surgery on any of my joints, nothing. So it’s really just amazing and wonderful. So I hope you find that encouraging and that you will go for it.
The Importance of Owning It
(9:55 - 18:45)
All right, so now we’re going to talk about Own It. Now, what does that mean, Own It? To own it means to just totally be you. Don’t apologize for yourself. Don’t try to hide whatever it is out of embarrassment, but just say, “Hey, this is it. This is what I am.” And what’s going to happen is you will be amazed. People who don’t really approve of that, they’re going to walk away from you and leave. And people who do approve of it, they’re going to come closer. And you will eventually find yourself surrounded by individuals who support you and agree with you and approve of you, or at least they don’t criticize you.
So, let me give you some examples from my own background. As many of you know, I’m not exactly ordinary. I’m not saying it’s a good thing or a bad thing. I’m just saying, not ordinary. So, I’m going to give you an example of times when I was different, but owned it. All right. So, I decided at one point in my life that I was going to... that I wanted to not eat meat. I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to eat meat. I don’t like it. I’m not going to eat it. Forget it. And so, I was 10 years old when I made that decision. And I finally said, “No, no, no, no. You have to eat meat, or you’re going to die. You gotta eat meat.” I said, “Okay.” So, I ate meat. I was 10 years old. Then fast forward to 26 years old. I was no longer at home. I was on my own. I had a job. I was actually paying my own bills. And I decided, “I’m not going to eat meat. I’m going to stop eating meat.” But I owned it. It was like, yeah. I started being vegetarian, then became vegan. I said, “Yep, I’m not eating meat.” But guess what? I feed myself. That’s right. I’ve got this. Serve whatever you want. I go to a restaurant. I order whatever I feel like ordering. If they got something in there I don’t eat, guess what? I offer it to the person sitting next to me or just leave it on the side of the plate. Or even better, I eat before I leave the house. Pack a meal if I have to. Pack enough to share in case anybody wants some. But I owned it. And someone asked me, “Do you eat meat?” I said, “No. But I have a lot of friends who do.” And I let them know that I own it. This is what I am. And that’s all there is to it. And really, that’s all there is to it. I don’t expect them to be that. I don’t expect them to make sacrifices to support what I choose to be. It’s just I am that. And I take care of that. And it was an amazing time. I went from vegetarian to being vegan. But again, I owned it. I was serious about it. I was so serious about it that I did it for 26 years. But only when I was bedridden, looking up from my bed, did I say, “You know, if diets can truly heal, and if food truly heals, then I must be eating something wrong or not eating something that’s very important. I wonder what it could be.” And so, by owning it, when my health started failing, because I had been vegan for too long, so that the nutritional deficiencies were setting in. Because I owned it, I said, “Hey, this is my responsibility. And I’m going to handle this.” But you’ve got to own it.
So, if I hadn’t owned it, first of all, I never would have reached the point of understanding the deficiencies of the vegan diets. When I first started being vegetarian or vegan, I was in a situation where I had an excess of a lot of meat-related material. And as that material went from excess down to just right, I continued to be vegan, and it went down to not enough. And even when I went back to eating meat, I did not go back to eating the meat I was eating. At the time I gave up meat, I said, “No, no, no, because I wasn’t feeling well.” At that point, what was the meat I was missing? So, I realized that it was not the flesh meats, but the organ meats. And I started eating organ meats, and bam, everything turned around. Now, again, owning it. But if I had not owned it, if I had said, “Okay, I’m going to be vegetarian, but I want all the restaurants to change everything they’re ordering, what they’re preparing, and how they prepare it for me,” I probably would have offended a lot of people and ruined a lot of just really wonderful relationships and friendships that I’ve built over the years. And again, owning it, not only allows you to be you, but allows you to be in harmony with people around you.
Another example of owning it: being a doctor. Yes, I did it. I went to medical school, I did a residency, I got board certified, the whole ball of wax. So, I went into medicine probably for the same reason everyone else goes into medicine. So, I thought anyway, to be of help to my patients, to help them heal and get better. And in my mind, I was going to heal people. And me going to medical school was me learning advanced techniques for healing. This was my vision of the whole thing. And when I actually got into practicing medicine, I realized that, oops, that’s not really what I got into. And so, as I realized this, I started doing more and more things that were helpful to people. And I stopped doing a lot of things that were unhelpful, things like ordering tests, prescribing antibiotics, giving injections. So, all these things I realized were not helpful. And so, I stopped them. Well, long story short, the licensing board came calling, knock, knock, knock, and just said, “Hey, you don’t need a license to do all this stuff. We’re just going to take this license away.” Now, I could have said, “Oh, wait, I want my license.” And I could have spent years, decades even, spending a lot of time and money to get the license back. But the license was only permission to do the things that I had already decided not to do. So, by owning it, I went on and looked for ways to help without a license, without doing those things that I knew were ineffective. And what that led to was a life of happiness, of fulfillment, of being able to assist people, and removing the stress of being compelled by a license to engage in activity that I observed to be harmful to my patients. Now, maybe they were helpful to other people’s patients. I don’t know. But the people that I saw and the effect I saw of these things was very damaging. And so, I had the freedom then to not do things that were damaging. And had I even succeeded in maybe retaining a license, I would have lived in fear. I would have felt very badly if I had continued to do those harmful things as a condition of keeping my license. And so, by owning it, I said, “Hey, you know what? I’m not going to do that stuff that you want me to do. If that’s what it takes to keep a license, then I’m not going to do it. And I won’t have a license.” And so, again, just own it. And it’s worked out very well. Very well.
Owning Decisions and Consequences
(18:45 - 29:02)
Another example of owning it: I wanted to have children. I wanted to have a family, a happy family, and raise kids. My goal was six children. Did the best I could. I had three children. However, on the way to this, I realized that getting married and getting divorced and having legal issues and having the government run my relationship with my partner or with my children was not okay. So, I owned it. I said, “Okay, I’m going to be a single mother. That is it.” So, did I try to misrepresent and say, “Well, you know, your father’s on a business trip?” No. I said, “Oh, here they are. No, they don’t have a father. And I feed them. I clothe them. I give them shelter. And I’m raising them.” Yep. That’s it. I owned it. Of course, the kids were born by artificial insemination. That way, there could be no entanglement, no negativity in terms of the government deciding that some unfortunate guy would have to maybe be involved in a way he didn’t want to be involved or that I would have to be involved with him, maybe in a way that I didn’t want to be involved. So, I owned it. And I felt that it would be a bad thing, right? Because the propaganda machine tells you, “Oh, single mother, bad, bad kids. Terrible, terrible, terrible.” And so, I looked into, well, what is the problem with single mothers? Well, single mothers don’t have the money to raise the kids. Yep. Check. Got that taken care of. Not a problem. Well, the kids don’t have emotional support. Well, what kind of emotional support do they need? Well, they need a family. All right. We got that. We got grandma. We got aunts. We got uncles. We got 24/7 companionship or whatever it takes to raise these kids. And then all of the issues supposedly with single motherhood, I took over each one. Nope. Not any of those problems. I’ve addressed them all. Bam. And so, I raised what turned out to be three children. And it was a wonderful experience. Totally positive. I enjoyed it. They enjoyed it. And to this day, they share fond memories of growing up with me. So, again, own it. I had to just say, “Hey, I’m single. That’s the truth.” Then, of course, the next question is, “Well, which guy abandoned you?” Oh, no, no, no. We will not be talking bad about any men. That’s not just... no, no, no. Some virtuous, kind, thoughtful, self-sacrificing man donated semen just so my kids could be born. And I appreciate that. And I was really very surprised that people who were devout Christians, incredible conservatives, were just very supportive. Like, “Dr. Daniels, that’s just marvelous. That’s amazing.” And so, again, just own it. Just whatever it is you’re going to do, own it. Take full responsibility for it and do it all the way. And just, yeah, own it.
Of course, it didn’t stop there. Then, I decided to move to a foreign country. Wow. Now, there is a temptation when, among people who leave their country, a temptation to recreate in their new country aspects of what they left. And in my case, I was very fortunate that at the point I left my birth country, my funds were just depleted, to be precise, more or less $270,000 in debt. And so, what it meant was I did not have the financial wherewithal to recreate in my new country any aspect of my old country. But knowing that was the attitude. So, I didn’t develop an immediate attitude of, you know what? I’m going to accept things the way they are, whatever that might be. Which means I set about learning the language. I set about understanding how things were done here. I set about meeting people who were born here in this country, understanding their customs, joining celebrations when I was invited. And one thing that I just said, okay, that’s just the way it is, was you walk into a bathroom and you point to something. You say, “What’s that?” “Oh, that’s the suicide shower.” “Suicide shower? I am not here to commit suicide.” And like, “Oh, no, no, that’s just a suicide shower. I mean, you could commit suicide with it. And people have done that, which is why it’s called suicide shower. But if you just use it the way they tell you to, not a problem.” So, little things like that. Or like commercials. So, in the United States, we have something called commercials. That’s a short message that maybe convinces you that you need to buy something. And so, I thought they were commercials. And so, I’m talking to somebody, a local, and I’m saying, “Hey, there’s this message. And it’s in Spanish. I don’t know much Spanish. What does it say? Do I need to understand that and do something?” And he says, “Oh, no, no, no. It’s just propaganda.” So, in English, propaganda is a very pejorative term. It means it’s a lie, a deception to convince you to do something that, for God’s sake, you don’t need to do. And it was amazing that in this culture, they don’t call them commercials. They just call it propaganda. Just call what they are. It’s very simple. So, again, it was, you know, by owning it, by saying, “I’m going to understand the culture. I’m going to learn the culture. I’m going to accept it the way it is.” I had a lot more fun, made a lot more friends. And actually, the cost of living was tremendously inexpensive because I wasn’t focused on creating expensive replicas of the old country. So, again, own it.
Questions and Answers
(29:02 - 40:00)
How does this factor into your health? Again, own it. Just own it. So, you know what? Here I am. This is the situation. This is the way it is. And whatever your limitation might be, if you have one, just let people know, “Hey, you know, this is the way it is.” And you will find people who are thoroughly happy with your limitation or peculiarity. And they’ll say, “Oh, okay, that’s fine. We can be friends.” And that’s great. And that same person, if you decide to conceal or hide the true state of affairs, let’s say, same person, every time you see them, you would think of that thing that you’re hiding and you would feel apprehensive, and you would feel self-conscious. And don’t put yourself through that. Just be yourself. Just own it. Own your health. I’ll give you an example. My late husband, when I met him, he was well over 300 pounds. And he said, “You know what? I know I’m doing something wrong. I just don’t really know what it is.” I’m like, “Uh, yeah.” So, once he lost 100 pounds, he realized exactly, not exactly what he had done that put the extra weight on, but he also realized within himself what he was responsible for, what he was and was not willing to do. And so, when he had aches or pains, he felt, “Oh, okay, I’ll just drink some water, knock the pain down. Great.” But he was only willing to do so much. Fine. The pain went to where he was happy with it. And that was that. So just own it. And when you own it, you don’t complain because you know that this is your choice, and you can always just change it if you don’t like it. But at the same time, you can just change it. You’re not surrounded by people who are constantly criticizing you and not accepting you as you are. So again, own it.
We have a situation where people are being asked to be injected with, I don’t know what. If you want to be injected, go for it. If you get side effects, own it. Say, “Hey, this is my decision. Got some side effects. It’s the way it is.” Or if you don’t want to be injected, then say, “Hey, you can’t come here, can’t go there, can’t do this, can’t do that.” Then you say, “Hey, what can I do?” And go and do what you can do. And you will find that it actually works out pretty well. So again, just own it. And things really just smooth right out.
Which brings us to the question and answer time.
(29:02 - 30:13)
Can you give an accurate list of the minerals, vitamins that are in Shilajit? Maybe in written form would be super helpful. No. So, first of all, there are no vitamins in Shilajit. That’s simple. Shilajit is not a manufactured product. It is something that’s simply taken out of the earth. If you would like an exhaustive list, the people who provide this, slap it in this jar for you. They do have a form that tells you all the trace minerals that are in it. And that would be the designated form by OSHA, which is an ingredients form and a specification of not only ingredients but hazards of taking too much and what to do with overexposure. So, you want to ask them for their OSHA form, and they can send it to you. They all have that.
(30:13 - 33:01)
My fiancee—that would be a woman—was diagnosed in October 2020 with colon cancer. The doctor told her she wasn’t treated within three to six months. She’s going to die within a year. Okay. So again, you’re now going to a fortune teller. So you can’t accept the future prognostications of people. Once you do, then you are elevating up the status of fortune teller. And certainly, by the pronouncements of medical experts over the past year, you can see that is actually not great. So after surgery, she started to get a little better. Then he suggested chemo and told her there are no side effects of the chemo. When I asked about other alternatives that would be better, the doctor became irritated if someone bothered my question. So why are you even in the room with this doctor? I don’t know. Again, you have to own the experience. You’re the one that made the appointment. You’re the one that decided to show up. You’re the one that decided to submit to all these tests. Needless to say, my dear is sick and in constant severe pain, and she’s in stage four. Really women white count are elevated. Red blood count is down, which means she’s losing blood. She’s going home with a packed pump for pain management. Okay. So that means that she is now on the morphine drip, which will kill her. She was on two antibiotics, urinary tract infection, bacteria found in her abdomen. Vancomycin was stopped because of vancomycin-resistant enterococcus, which is a side effect of vancomycin, by the way, taking vancomycin. So the doctor has harmed her. She has deficiencies in D, A, B, and iron. I’ll stop there. Can she be helped? Please let me know what I can do since she’s now in hospice. Okay. So to get rid of her D, A, and B and iron deficiencies, a piece of liver covers all those spaces, and we roll her out in the sun, and the liver is converted to vitamin D. Bam. That much you can do. So my mother was sent home in hospice with hospice. She was in some pain, and she was comatose. And what we did was we just stopped all the hospice-recommended medicines and fed her food, and she did just fine. I would recommend doing at least that. You can also go to the vitalitycouncils.com site and download the Candida Cleaning Report, which tells you about turpentine. I would say that and also focus on her bowel movements, having her get more bowel movements, and I think that’ll help.
(33:01 - 34:42)
Lisa Carly says, “I love listening to your podcast. I’m currently very sick. Lost my sense of smell.” Don’t worry about it. Ignore it completely. And it’s making me worry. So don’t worry about that. My body is very—in other words, no one ever died for loss of sense of smell. My body is very achy. Oh, no, we’re getting into something worth handling. I have no energy. So achy body means drink water, poop more. No energy means eat liver. Super simple. This has been going on for a week now. I’ve been doing one or two enemas every day along with a teaspoon of ascorbic acid. So I’m not sure what that means. Are you putting ascorbic acid in the enema? I don’t know. But the two enemas every day is contributing to the exhaustion. So you may want to cut that back to one enema a day. Again, eat some liver.
(34:42 - 36:00)
I have six bowel movements and two enemas a day. So this person is literally pooping themselves down the drain and killing themselves by pooping themselves down the drain. And I’m drinking only water. I’m also coating my chest with Vicks and sitting in the steam. No. So sitting in the steam is depleting more of the minerals that you are already flushing down the toilet. So you’re just bringing yourself closer to the grave here. Is there anything else I can do? Yes. Stop steam. I don’t know why you’re coating your chest with Vicks. I have no idea. Stop doing that. If you’re breathing, then there’s no need to coat your chest with Vicks. So if your body is achy, start with the liver. Yeah. Start with the liver.
(36:00 - 40:00)
Thank you for your wonderful podcast. Your teeth are so white and straight. How do you suggest we take care of our teeth? What have you done? You know, I was brushing my teeth this morning. I look and I’m like, “Oh my god, they really are white.” At first, I thought, “Ah, the listeners are just being overly generous.” So the straight teeth, I have to blame that on my parents. Not so much genetics, although that’s, of course, we can always blame genetics, but them feeding me ham hocks and pork neck bones as a kid. So I’d recommend you eat some ham hocks, pork neck bones. If you want to kick it up a notch, cow feet. In fact, I have some cow foot soup brewing up right now. But my ace in the hole is cow foot soup. Oh my god. So my teeth now are so strong, and it’s like they’re just self-maintaining and regenerating. And I can chew with confidence. I don’t have to worry. A little bit of pain there. Oh, just a little soft, a little wobbly. No, I don’t want to chew. They are nice and firm. So cow foot soup is number one. And I also brush my teeth with a, let’s see if I don’t see it here, charcoal-based natural soap. So it has charcoal added to the actual toothpaste. Let me see if I can find the toothpaste. I’m here in the wilderness. Oh, thank you. What? Oh, if they just interrogate me a little bit more about using my own computer, I just don’t really know what I would do. I mean, honestly. So I’m looking here to see, uh, what year is this? 21. I think I bought it in 2020. Oh, this is looking familiar. I don’t see. Oh, dear. Did I, did I really buy all this stuff? You know, I don’t see the toothpaste brand here. Hmm. Let me see if I can find it a little quicker. Charcoal. Oh my. There are a lot of products in this space. That’s a very popular, uh, thing. So I went to the health food store, honestly, and just bought a tube that said it had charcoal added. So maybe the Himalayan brand here is a nice brand. I don’t see a picture. It looks like my tube of toothpaste. Yep. But buy natural toothpaste that has a little bit of charcoal added. If you’re eating cow foot soup, then the veneer of your tooth is constantly being renewed. But if you use charcoal toothpaste, which is slightly abrasive, and you’re not eating cow foot soup, you’re literally going to brush your teeth away. They’re going to brush away, and your body’s not going to be renewing that surface and strengthening the teeth. So that is my secret. And they are some very strong teeth. And I can tell you I’m so excited. I can just eat and smile with confidence.
Oh, that brings us to the end of today’s show. And as always, think happens. And yeah, check out Vitality Capsules at vitalitycycles.com.
