Becoming Fearless

Becoming Fearless

Introduction
(0:01) Hi, this is Dr. Daniels, and you are listening to the Sunday, January 17th, 2021 edition of Dealing with Dr. Daniels. Today's topic is "Become Fearless." Yes! So today, I'm going to examine the components of courage, share how I cultivated courage, and how this can supercharge your health. And as always, things happen.
Starting with Turpentine
(0:37) But first, we have the thicker turpentine, and we start with, well, turpentine. Whenever you do this home healing at home yourself, you have to label your bottles. Sometimes I put just "turp," sometimes "tu," and today we have "turpentine" and "turpentine." This lets people know that this is not water or some other liquid to be consumed lightly.
(0:59) All right, so we're going to unscrew our top. Yay! Get a little pipette, just little plastic pipettes. They sell them as disposable, but I reuse them. This fills right up there at the neck—2.5 cc. We have our sugar. We label it. Why do we label sugar? Because a lot of things are white powders.
(1:31) So, I'm using a proper teaspoon. In the United States, this is called a teaspoon, a spoon that you would use if you're drinking tea. I just put sugar on the first half of the spoon. You have to leave some space on the back of the spoon. I'll show you. That’s empty. And then this is our turpentine. We’re just going to go ahead and put it on the sugar, ready to go.
(2:13) I like to put a little bit of water in my mouth first, because then I can use it to lift the sugar off the spoon, toss it to the back of my mouth, and swallow it with minimal flavor. A little bit of taste there. Okay, we've got that all the way down.
Next: Shilajit
(2:49) Next is our Shilajit. This is Shilajit. It's common for the bottle to get a little bit dirty. The label is Momio. It gets worn off. This is Momio, which is the same as Shilajit. It’s from Siberia. We’re going to take the top off. You can see it’s a bit gooey. Yep.
(3:14) And my chopstick. We want about 200 milligrams. A little bit more, a little bit less is not a big deal. I just want to scrape that off. There we go, 200 milligrams. Put that into our water right there. We’re going to let that set and let that dissolve. I do not like the way Shilajit tastes. I mean, turpentine is easier, if you ask me.
Tamarind and Continuing the Show
(3:46) Okay, so I have tamarind. This is a package of tamarind. As you can see, it is not even in English. No, it is not. There might be an expiration date there, but you can’t really make it out. Like, secret. I have found an occasional bug here and there in my tamarind. This is tamarind paste. Those of you who live in what's referred to as a first world country, maybe the United States, for example, you might find your tamarind instead of in a plastic bag like this, in a container with a top on it. Usually, it’s a plastic container.
(4:25) All right, here we are. So this clump of goo down here—I don’t know if you can see it. Oh, there you go. That’s tamarind. And then we have the little bit of Shilajit right here. Okay, so we’re just going to give that a little bit of poking and stuff to help it dissolve. We’re going to go on with our show and get back to that.
(4:55) Those of you who want to know more about turpentine, how to take it, go to vitalitycapsules.com and download the free report, The Candida Cleaner. Back when I first released this on the internet in 2010 and it went viral, using the word "turpentine" was not allowed at all. That’s why the document is named The Candida Cleaner and has kept that name ever since. That is the turpentine show. Oh, and turpentine—people had just gotten amazing results from it. In the United States, as recently as 1899, turpentine was listed as a cure for each and every affliction in the Merck manual. My, how things have changed. So check it out. Check it out.
Support the Show and Vitality Capsules
(5:58) Next, these radio shows and podcasts—obviously, they're free at the moment. We’d like to keep them that way. You can help us with that. The way you can help us is when you want to share this podcast, do not post the link. If you post the link, we get charged by Vimeo for each and every download, and that can add up to tens of thousands of dollars very quickly. So what we ask you to do is please download the podcast and upload it to wherever you want, anywhere on the web.
(6:35) Okay. So yeah, spread the word, and I’m happy to share with anybody and everybody, but keep it affordable for me to produce these. Okay. And then, Vitality Capsules. Yay! Our sponsor, Vitality Capsules, is the internal cleanser, gentle enough for everyday use. So please go to vitalitycapsules.com and get your bottle today.
(7:05) I developed Vitality Capsules when I was in medical practice as a doctor in the 90s. I realized I could not get my patients to heal unless I got them to poop. One patient said to me one day, “Dr. Daniels, you want me to poop? I’ll tell you what you gotta do. You make up a pill that'll make me poop. I’m gonna take it and I’ll poop.” I said, “Well, okay.” So I got right to work. It took me a while, about six months, to come up with the formulation. We started out with me buying the whole herbs and grinding them myself at the kitchen table, mixing them together in a jar, and then putting them on the dining room table where my son would pack the herbs into capsules.
(7:56) Patients came to the office to buy them, and they shared them with their friends. We just had a lot of difficulty staying in stock with my son packing them by hand. I ordered ingredients, and now we have a company that packages and labels them in bottles and everything. Not everyone has the same quality and care that I had working at my dining room at my kitchen table. So we put several testing screens in place. We do FTIR testing, where basically each herb has a footprint. We do that test to make sure that the herb we’ve ordered really is the herb that we received. That has not always been the case.
(8:49) Then we have another screen where we actually have people who take the herbs and test them to make sure they taste the way they should taste and have the effect they’re supposed to have. We have these two very important screens. I am really excited to have a team now to really bring you this amazing product for your health. So that’s Vitality Capsules.
Update on Mom
(9:14) And update, update on mom. So mom has really just blossomed. She’s talking a mile a minute. She’s getting up and trying to use the bedside commode without assistance. She’s changing her own adult diapers. She says, “Well, I’m 89, but I think I want to live to be 90.” I said, “Okay, okay.” Whereas before, when she would make these desperate calls from the nursing home, it was terrible. She would tell me how they were torturing her with terrible things they were doing to her. And I realized, “Mom, that’s just routine stuff. They just tie people to the bed. They just shoot them full of tranquilizers to shut them up. This is just the way things are done.”
(10:04) So now she’s home. Apparently, she’s being treated very well by my daughter and the other grandkids. She’s decided, “You know what? It’s pretty good.” So she’s going to hang out till 90. We’re all excited. Everyone, I guess, is marking their calendar to show up for her 90th birthday celebration.
Becoming Fearless
(10:39) Okay. And that brings us to becoming fearless. As a kid, I was always filled with a tremendous amount of fear and apprehension. It’s just the way it was. Well, I shouldn’t say that. At a very young age, about age three, people actually tried to kill me. I was like, oh my goodness, this is terrible. So of course, I became a very fearful person because this happened on several occasions.
(11:01) So as I entered young adulthood, my late teens, I was extremely, extremely fearful. I was afraid of really just about anything and everything. I was afraid of the dark. I was afraid to go to a party. I was afraid to really do much of anything. The question is, how do you go from that to being able to function and let go of fears? People would often observe me and say, “Oh my gosh, you’re so courageous. You’re so fearless.”
(11:44) And so I never understood why others saw me as being so fearless and courageous, and why I had a different view of myself. But during the situation we have in the world, both of you listening at a different time, this is 2021, January. I’ve turned off my social media, shut down my phone, and had time to reflect. I want to share with you today what I’ve discovered. I hope that it will inspire you to embark on a life filled with joy and happiness, courage, and possibilities. And of course, always increase health.
(12:12) So I hope these insights will inspire you to be more courageous. The first thing I realized was that I did a lot of things that people said, “Oh man, this is not going to work. This is going to be really, really bad.” One thing that I did was I purchased a city block, built a medical office building, and started a medical practice in the middle of the ghetto. And everyone was like, “This is not going to work out.” They felt so sorry for me, like, “She’s such a nice person.” But everyone was on the edge of their seat just watching how this would unfold.
(13:07) So the question is, why was I so calm, relaxed, and confident about the whole thing, while everyone else was so filled with fear and apprehension? They said, “Oh no, no, no, this is a bad thing.” When I examined this, I realized that I had a different set of beliefs. Those beliefs, and also, I had a different set of information from the people who were looking on with great fear and actually horror. People were horrified. Even blacks came up to me and said, “Jennifer, we know you want to help the neighborhood. We know you want to uplift people, but you don’t have to live here. You don’t have to sacrifice your life for it.”
(14:04) And so I said, “Oh no, no, no, this is fine. I’m happy with this.” I had a whole different set of beliefs and a whole different set of information. This allowed me to do something perceived by others as very risky and dangerous, which caused them to be extremely fearful. But for me, it made me very calm, and I could see very clearly how this was going to work out very well, which it did.
(14:31) So I want to take this model of examining your fears, looking at your beliefs, examining your information set, and turning the situation around to one not of fear and danger, but one of happiness, opportunity, and excitement. I’m going to take just an everyday event in my life, just an everyday event, which for me was extremely traumatic and filled me with fear, absolutely terrified me, and how I overcame it. Then I’m going to apply it to health experiences, and hopefully, that’ll give you inspiration and encouragement to do the same in your life.
Facing Fear: My Experience with Dogs
(15:17) First of all, accept that you’re fearful. Okay, don’t say, “Oh, I shouldn’t be afraid.” If you’re afraid, you’re afraid. That’s it. Accept it. But then ask yourself, why are you afraid of it? Make a list of all the reasons why you’re afraid. One of my big fears was that I had a pack of semi-wild dogs in the neighborhood that would ferociously bark at me, chase me, and just absolutely terrify me. I was literally almost afraid to leave my house. I thought, “Oh my God, somebody needs to exterminate those dogs. This is a terrible thing.” I was filled with fear, and I love to walk.
(16:08) So this was a problem for me, to walk out of my yard and go around the block. It was so bad that I would turn only one way because if I turned the other way, I would confront the dogs. So ask yourself why you’re afraid of these. I asked myself, well, why am I afraid of these dogs? Of course, I was afraid of them because I thought they were going to bite me. Then make a list of reasons. What’s the outcome you believe will happen, and why do you think it will happen?
(16:42) This is my list. I’m going to do this in real-time. I believed these dogs were dangerous. I thought they wanted to harm me. I thought I was not strong enough to protect myself, that they would always act that way, that their behavior was fixed and could not change. They had no good role to play in my life. They were evil. There’s no way I could benefit from their existence. I believed that these dogs had no fear and that their owners were bad people. And of course, it was a serious health issue because a few dog bites—well, that’s not healthy. And of course, it’s a freedom issue because I could not walk around my block. I was almost a prisoner in my house. So these were all my beliefs.
Challenging and Overcoming the Fear
(17:39) Then ask yourself, which of the reasons would have to be false for you to feel comfortable doing the action, whatever it is you’re afraid of? What would have to be false? Because if the fear is paralyzing you, then the fear is based on a false belief somewhere. There’s a data point that you’re missing. What you want to do is look at what you think are the facts of the situation and understand that many of those facts are not true. That’s why you’re in a state of fear. So let’s sort this out.
(18:17) So we have all these beliefs. At first, I ignored the dogs. I would just walk at a steady pace, and they barked and circled each time I left the house. Each time I left, they would bark louder and circle even closer and closer. I was exhausted even at the thought of leaving my house. I was thinking of actually moving.
(18:47) Then I talked to someone who was not afraid of dogs. In other words, I went and got information and asked what to do, or if maybe he could kill them for me. He laughed. He just laughed. I was like, “Oh, well, how helpful you are.” So he told me that the dogs were afraid and fearful. Wait, the dogs were afraid and fearful? This means that my thinking they had no fear—maybe that was not true. Maybe it wasn’t true. I thought the dogs were evil. He said, “No, no, no, they’re just fearful dogs trying to bark to make themselves more secure.” I said, “Huh, that’s interesting.” I said, “Well, what do I do?” He said, “Well, you took Taekwondo.” I said, “Yes, I did.” He said, “And you became a yellow belt.” I said, “Yes, I did.” He said, “Well, all you do is strike a Taekwondo pose and yell.” I yelled a lot louder than that, but you get the idea.
(20:01) So I did this. Literally, I threw my hands in the air and screamed because I was going to do a karate chop or something. And the dogs scattered. Like, whoa, whoa, false belief there, huh? Well, that just—they wanted to harm me. No, they were just having fun. They didn’t have any particular agenda. I thought they were out to get me. I wasn’t strong enough to protect myself. Of course I was, because guess what? It didn’t take any strength. So I went and got more information from somebody who had information I didn’t have. And then I acted on it. I implemented it.
(21:04) So just that one thing let me know that these dogs did not want to harm me. I was strong enough to protect myself, and the behavior of these dogs could be modified or changed by me. I didn’t need to go knock on some neighbor’s door and say, “Oh, is that your dog?” No. And this seemed to work for a while. But then I noticed that they would kind of stalk me and bark. So I went back to my friend and said, “Well, what do I do now?” He says, “Well, you’ve got to talk trash.” I said, “What do you mean?” He said, “Now you have to yell at them. You have to yell at them, and you’ve got to tell them that they’re not to do that.” I said, “Oh, okay.”
Taking Charge and Transforming the Situation
(21:53) So now what I did was I would yell things like “Back off! Out of here! Go home! Don’t even try it!” But the tone was important since the dogs spoke Spanish, not English. Meanwhile, of course, I continued to raise my arms and move towards them. Finally, I was going around the block one time, and one dog decided he was going to settle this once and for all. So he walked down the street, the center of the street, like a gunslinger at high noon, barking at me. And I was walking down the center of the street this way. He walked down that way and walked towards me, barking and barking and barking. I said, “What am I going to do? Oh no.” So I started running at him, yelling negative commands. He turned around and walked to the side of the street, yelling at me. I said, “Wow, pretty good. Pretty good.”
(22:47) The next time around the block, I walked around the block, and the dogs lifted their heads, looked at me, and then put their heads back down. Then I checked back with my friend. “So now what do I do?” He says, “Well, now you can give them a treat. But only give a treat to one dog. Do not bring enough treats for all the dogs. No, no, no. You give one treat to one dog—any dog you want; it doesn’t matter.” I said, “Oh, okay.” He said, “You don’t have to buy treats. Any piece of rotten meat, rotten any kind of food—just throw it at them. Don’t give it to them.” I said, “Oh, okay.”
(23:31) So I walked around the block, and all the dogs were sufficiently humble. There was one little dog that was not the alpha male, just a runt in the pack, who kind of wandered into the street. I said, “Okay.” So I threw food at him. It landed about 10 feet away from him. I went to my house and watched as he ate it. Well, then a curious thing happened. The other dogs came over to him, sniffed him, and sniffed around to verify that it was indeed a treat. They had a little meeting. The next day, none of the dogs barked. None of them challenged me. The alpha male walked up to me without barking, bowed, and then walked back to the side of the road.
The Transformation
(24:18) So what happened here? The next time I walked around the block, the owner was sitting out there about 40 feet back from the road, but I could see him sitting there. He had the dog on a chain, and he smiled and waved at me as I walked by. Like, wow, that’s really nice. So now where are we at? Well, I examined my beliefs or assumptions. I got more information and acted on a little bit of the information as I was able to, given my level of fear. As I took action, I experienced the understanding that these beliefs were false. Then with increased action, I experienced the understanding that more and more of my beliefs or assumptions were false, as well as my information base. As I replaced my false information with true information, walking around the block now is an easy, joyful experience. The dogs bark hysterically when strangers come into the neighborhood, and I’ve converted what was once a fearful, terrifying experience into a pleasant experience. These dogs have become my greatest allies.
(25:50) Now, I don’t fear the dogs. I can walk around the block. The dogs post themselves outside my gate as guards, and they bark to let me know if strangers come into the neighborhood. They’re better than doorbells and personal security, and I don’t have to feed them. I only hand out rotten meat two times a week, and only to one dog. That way, the other dogs have to wonder how they can be nicer to me to get treats. If you hand out treats to all of them, you wipe out the value of the treats.
Applying This to Health
(26:20) Now, you can apply this to many aspects of your life and your health. Let me just apply this to health. Back in, I guess, 1986, I was eating meat. I was always queasy, tired, and I ate one pound of microwaved bacon. One pound. And I felt bad. I thought I was going to die. I said, “That’s it. That’s it. This meat. No more meat for me.” I went vegan. I felt better over the years. For about two or three years, I felt better. Then I felt worse and worse and worse. I became so weak that it was difficult for me to even get out of bed. Now, I had believed that meat was the cause of my initial discomfort, and that’s why I stopped eating it.
(27:11) As my health deteriorated, I had to question my fear of meat as a food category. My assumption was that meat—any and all meat—was the cause of any and all illness. But I was not eating meat, and I was much sicker than those who were eating meat. So I had to let go of the meat assumption. As I let go of it, I really had to think, “What meat am I going to try and eat?” I tried liver, and boom. I was able to bounce right out of bed, and my energy came back 100%.
(27:58) But taking this approach to my fears—examining my assumptions, getting more information, and then testing things out—allowed me to discover the real culprit that caused me to give up meat in the first place. The symptoms I experienced that led me to give up meat were not caused by the meat at all. It was a failure to drink enough water and to eat enough vegetables with my meat. This may not sound like a big deal, but improving my health to the point where I was no longer laying on the couch exhausted and I could get up, go to the bathroom, clean my house, and work was huge. It was a very, very big change.
(28:47) So do this in your life, especially with our present situation. If you feel fearful, if you feel paralyzed, why? What is it that you’re fearing? Maybe you’re fearing that you can’t live your life the way you want to. Okay, fine. Make a list of what you would have to do in order to live your life the way you want to. You might find that with the present situation, you can go on and do just that. So I would say, take this approach for sure and really wipe those fears away. Other people looking in are going to think, “Oh my God, this person is so courageous or so bold or so this or that.” No, because what you’re doing is you’re actually taking a look at your beliefs, taking a look at your data and information that you’re relying on, and saying, “Wait a minute, is this really true? Could there be something else?” Pick a small piece of information that you can easily test and say, “Hey, is this really true?” You’ll see that it really just changes everything.
Q&A Session
(29:49) So I want to remind people if they have questions to send them to J D A A N I E L S at gmail.com. We have some questions today.
Question 1: Confusion and Autoimmune Disease
(30:02) This person says, “Diana. Diana says, I hope you can shed some light on my ever-confused mind. I’m 57, usually healthy, but last year I now seem to have an autoimmune disease—eosinophilic fasciitis.” She said “facilities,” but it’s “fasciitis.” Eosinophilic fasciitis. “I’ve listened to your fascinating videos and read your vitality website. I was literally on the brink of purchasing items from your website to help heal me. As the experts had no solutions for months, my eosinophilia bloods were raised, my body swelled, and my skin became hard. It took until December to be given medicine.”
(30:46) “So from March to December, nine months, I’m now on prednisone—either prednisone or prednisolone. It doesn’t matter which one it is; they both do the same thing. But currently, I’m 15 milligrams once a day, but I started out at 40. Methotrexate—10 tablets once a week. My bloods have lowered, thank God, but I wish I’d been brave enough to buy and take the turpentine and shilajit. How do I go about coming off the tablets and starting to take turpentine? Obviously, I’m a little scared, frightened because the condition is painful and restrictive. I know the medication I’m on is dangerous. I hope you can offer a professional opinion. Thank you kindly, Diana Birch.”
(31:38) Okay, so there’s a lot going on here. So, your ever-confused mind is going to get more confused because prednisone causes—wait for it—confusion. In fact, look it up—steroid psychosis. If you keep taking prednisone, you will lose your mind. People will say, “No, Diana was a pretty good girl. She started that medicine. I don’t know what it was, but I don’t know. Lately, she’s just not right.” So, yes, you will keep getting confused.
(32:06) Now, prednisone also causes cataracts—just call it blindness, call it what it is—diabetes, hypertension, and liver problems. Oh, and it dissolves your bones too, requiring usually hip replacements. So if you keep taking that, that’s where you’re going. It’s not an “if,” it’s a “when.” Guaranteed, it’ll happen. And methotrexate—methotrexate destroys your liver. So now you have prednisone and methotrexate destroying your liver. Methotrexate does cause death. As you’ll see, your doctor is doing regular blood tests for liver enzymes to see if—how much damage—it’s not a matter of “if,” it’s a matter of “when” and “how much”—how much damage the methotrexate is doing. So you’ve put yourself on a pretty bad path here.
(33:02) I would suggest you go through the process we outlined in the radio show today. Okay, what is it you’re afraid of? Make a list. What is it you’re afraid of will happen if you stop your medications? Make a list and examine those beliefs. So what I would say is go back to the website, vitalitycapsules.com, at least download the Candida Cleaner report, and follow the dietary and water instructions—at least do those. If you do that—if you just follow the dietary instructions and the hydration and pooping three times a day—definitely get your Vitality Capsules. Extra strength will be better for you because you’re going to be in so much pain. It helps nicely with pain. And stop that prednisone and the methotrexate as soon as you possibly can.
(33:54) Now, turpentine would help, but once you get hydrated, you’ll feel so much better. This eosinophilic fasciitis is caused basically by eating processed foods, not drinking enough water, and not pooping enough. That’s pretty much it. So had you had the courage at some point in your nine-month journey to drink more water, change your diet, and have more bowel movements, you could have avoided your present situation. But you only started the medicine in December, and this is January, so it’s only been about a month. You might be able to taper yourself off very nicely. If you have more questions, it’s definitely worth it—for you, it’s definitely worth an appointment. People say, “Oh, Dr. Daniels, appointments are so expensive.” Okay, so this person has just put herself on a trajectory where she stands to lose at least $100,000 in the next five years. I think one $400 appointment would be a worthwhile investment.
Question 2: Bottled Water vs. Tap Water
(35:04) All right, we have time for one more question. “Dr. Daniels, what are your thoughts on drinking bottled water versus tap? Plastic microfiber in bottled water. Thoughts on a Berkey water filter?”
(35:12) Okay, so the problem here is it’s not tap versus bottled water. It’s all water versus water you purify yourself. It’s a different world we’re living in, and you really don’t want to trust anything you don’t have to to people outside your home. So I would say get a tabletop distiller. You can get it at eBay or Amazon, or your local hardware store usually has it. But get yourself a distiller. Distill your own water. That’s what you would—that would be the thing to drink. If you want a full discussion on that, I have a whole hour program devoted to water. It’s on my website, vitalitycapsules.com. The archives—I believe it’s Water, Water Everywhere, Not a Single Drop to Spare.
Conclusion
(36:01) Okay, that is it. That is all the news that is news. As always, think happens and let it happen to you.
